A Bowl of Water

Some people hate it, but I love HDR.  I love the crunchy, intensiveness of it.  I love that there is so much detail.

There is more than one way to do something.

The Evolution of Man

Posted by kymm on January 18, 2015 in Uncategorized with No Comments

I’m still working on this.  A friend said it looked like Rob Lowe.  I’m the only person I know who can accidentally paint Rob Lowe.  I’ll definitely be lightening the lips.

My Refrigerator

This is my refrigerator.  As you can tell I have no children. Iggy looks like a little boy who just discovered that it feels good to touch himself.  Someone was nice enough to Photoshop Alexander Skarsgård’s head on someone else’s body. I don’t know who the surfer is.  He just has a bad attitude.  The magnet on the bottom came from a friend in Europe.

I enjoy having fun with old images.  The original is just a pair of German soldiers.  The restoration is a pair of Matthew Grey Gublers.  He’s one of the actors in Criminal Minds.

I Spoil My Cat

Although I thought of getting a cat for some time, when I got Triton it was kind of a spur of the moment thing.  While making space for the new girl I just threw down a sheet of cardboard where her feeding area was.  After a time this grew to be a bit gross.  I decided she needed a special spot just for her.

Triton's Feeding Station

The top is the original concept that I worked up in Photoshop.  Things evolved as it went.  The cat in the bottom right was left out.  I found print duct tape at Joann’s.  The letters did not come out exactly as I wanted.  The whole thing is covered in clear contact paper.  It is not as sticky as I would have liked.  However, overall I am happy with the end result.  Triton?  I really don’t think she gives a lick.

Work in Progress

I live in a small apartment, but I decided to make room for an easel.  Sure it takes up space in my living room and the cat has to walk around it to get to her food, but I always have access to it.  This is something I spontaneously started.  It is made with acrylic paint, lipstick, and eyeliner.  I found some cosmetics I had sitting in a drawer and did the math.  They were 11 years old.  I think they were **WAY** past using for what they were made for.  I will work on in more on the weekend.  I’ll post a photo of the finished product.

Coffee and Paint and Photoshop

I find painting relaxing and want to get back into it.   I have a 20×20 canvas dying to get messed up. I played around with some things I found on the internet and came up with this idea.  I like working out things with Photoshop.  I’ve been around long enough to know that the finished work will not look anything like this.

Benson Bubbler

I found myself out and about in downtown Portland early today.  I was multitasking – playing Ingress and taking photographs.  Yes, I have had a drink from them despite the pigeons also being users of these unique fountains.  The water is just fine.  They get cleaned twice a month.

Tiger, Tiger

If you know me, you know that I am very much opposed to animals being forced to perform for us.  I am against circuses and I’m not so keen on zoos.

Tiger at Oregon Zoo

However, back in 2008 I did go to the Oregon Zoo.  It was then I was able to photograph this beauty.  It is a shame that animals such as this are kept in captivity while the wild tigers are being pushed to extinction.

The Big Cat Rescue in Florida works to keep out of horrible situations that the sometimes find themselves in.   Big cats should not be pets, or in canned hunts, or in petting zoos.  They are not for us to exploit.

Brand New Start

I am an enthusiastic student of Photoshop and Web Design. I love a creative challenge and I am always looking to learn new things. This website is about exploring my creativity.
