Although I thought of getting a cat for some time, when I got Triton it was kind of a spur of the moment thing. While making space for the new girl I just threw down a sheet of cardboard where her feeding area was. After a time this grew to be a bit gross. I decided she needed a special spot just for her.
The top is the original concept that I worked up in Photoshop. Things evolved as it went. The cat in the bottom right was left out. I found print duct tape at Joann’s. The letters did not come out exactly as I wanted. The whole thing is covered in clear contact paper. It is not as sticky as I would have liked. However, overall I am happy with the end result. Triton? I really don’t think she gives a lick.
I’ve always had the urge to learn new things. There are other ways to vent my creativity than Photoshop.
Here is a photo of my single crochet. I’m feeling fairly comfortable with it now so I’m going to move onto the other stitches. I’ve been seeing amazing things done with crochet on Pinterest. I’ve been inspired to learn the craft so I too can create amazing things. When my friend Ashley gets back into town we are going to create awesomeness. She’s a crafty person so this should be a lot of fun.
Sometimes I dwell on a little fantasy. I was thinking of what my dream kitchen would look like and I came up with a color scheme. Now I may change my mind tomorrow, but right now I am enamored with the color orange. Orange, White, Yellow and Red are hot kitchen colors. Click on the image to enlarge it.
Here is a quick image of my business card that I took with my cell phone. I used my lily as a photo assistant.
Like I mentioned before, it is not perfect. I would have shifted the flower over more. Next time. I just felt like if I futzed with it one more day I would never get it done. I like that it is vibrant and friendly.
I’ve been working on getting my business cards made. I probably would have had them done a long time ago, but I wanted them to be “perfect”. Eventually I will have perfect cards, but for now I have adequate cards. I have 500 very orange cards that match my very orange couch. I like the orange, but it makes me realize that I have to calibrate my monitor. These cards are ORANGE! Yes Kymm, there is a difference between print and web. I will post an image of the card later.
Meanwhile, I’ve been working on upgrading my skills. I was reading Photoshop User magazine and I found a very nice text effect. (June 2011 edition)

It gives the effect of gold. It looks very nice. I put the lettering on a background that I made using “clouds” and “glass” filters.
